Winnipeg ICE announce partnership with Shaftesbury High School

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg ICE Hockey Club is excited to announce that the home school for Winnipeg ICE WHL hockey players will be Shaftesbury High School.

“As an alumnus of Shaftesbury, I am very excited that our players will have the opportunity to be supported by such a passionate group of educators,” said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager. “Our players will appreciate the close proximity to the practice facility, wide variety of course selection and high standards for academic achievement.”

The Winnipeg ICE join the RINK Hockey Academy as programs to make Shaftesbury its school of choice for amateur athletes.

“Shaftesbury has extensive experience working with student athletes and the inclusion of the Winnipeg ICE expands on the current support being provided for the RINK Hockey Academy,” said Catherine Birch, Principal of Shaftesbury High School. “In Pembina Trails School Division, we believe our students can accomplish anything and are excited to help these athletes reach their true potential on and off the ice.”

Winnipeg ICE players will begin schooling at Shaftesbury this fall.
