Pembina Trails welcomes Kevin Lamoureux

He has held many high profile positions, and is known for his commitment to reconciliation.

Pembina Trails Board of Trustees and Senior Administration Team are pleased to announce that Kevin Lamoureux will soon be joining the division as our Scholar in Residence.

“We are thrilled to have Kevin Lamoureux join Pembina Trails. Our Board is committed to reconciliation, and this new relationship is another positive step in our ongoing journey,” shared Chair, Jaime Glenat.

Lamoureux most recently held the prestigious position of Associate Vice-President of Indigenous Affairs at the University of Winnipeg. He recently stepped down in order to complete his PhD studies.

The award-winning scholar and author has also served as the Education Lead for the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. He is a highly sought after public speaker and has connected with audiences across the globe. Kevin is passionate about youth empowerment and Indigenous education.

“I am very proud to become a small part of this team,” shared Lamoureux. “Pembina Trails is a leader in so many ways, I believe that their commitment to Indigenous Education and Reconciliation is going to empower generations of students who are not just aware of our challenges in Canada, but who are transformative.”

Lamoureux will begin his Scholar in Residence with Pembina Trails in January 2019.
