Excitement in Science as Oak Park Students Rock Some Awesome Opportunities

U of M SET day (Science, Engineering and Technology Day) – February 24th


Oak Park students Dirk Page, Matt Carlin, Katy Wiebe and Emma Mutcher accompanied Mr. Bettess, Mr. Chapellez, Mme Nelson and Mme McIntyre to investigate SET day at the U of M Engineering Complex on February 24th. The morning consisted of learning about making a bridge and load bearing capabilities, before the actual bridge was constructed. After a few lectures in the afternoon, we did some hands-on Biology as we identified blood type and extracted DNA of strawberries.Here are some pictures of the students hard at work with the head of Civil Engineering and some of her undergraduate students and doctoral student:
