Funding Sources

  • The province continues to provide a Property Tax Offset Grant (PTOG) in the net amount of $6,903,885. The Board has identified additional resources to support the reduction in class sizes for our youngest learners.
  • While the Division has received a slight increase in overall base funding of 1% from the Province, it is not enough to keep up with the student enrolment increases, salary increases and fixed cost increases like utilities. The Provincial Government has also lifted the restriction on the amount of funding that may be raised through local property taxation.
  • This budget continues to provide excellent educational opportunities for all students achieved through a modest increase in the mill rate.
