Pembina Trails Early College (PTEC) is a program that prepares students for jobs in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Students with a passion for software development, cyber security, coding, and more have an opportunity to leave grade 12 with a high school diploma, a post-secondary diploma/certificate, and a head start in an exciting, lucrative career.

How does PTEC work?

In grades 9 & 10, students take their compulsory courses and their technical courses at Pembina Trails Collegiate.  After learning and studying the roust, knowledge-based IT curriculum in both Software development and Cyber Security, students move to the Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology (MITT) in one of two streams while they continue taking their compulsory courses at Pembina Trails Collegiate.
• One year certificate: Cyber Security Analyst
• One year certificate: Software Developer Stream

PTEC prides itself on the collaboration with and essential partnership with Tech MB. Our industry mentorship is woven through the curriculum offering students a comprehensive sneak peek into the life of an IT expert. We enhance the theoretical curriculum with practical, real-life experiences.

Pembina Trails School Division aims to provide innovative opportunities for students. PTEC was created with the vision of equipping students with the skills required to succeed in the highly competitive technology industry through hands-on learning, mentorship, and work experience. Whether they are designing and testing future products, analyzing defects in software, or driving quality improvements for global customers, PTEC graduates will contribute to creating a better future. Graduates can continue their education at MITT, apply to University, or step seamlessly into the workforce.
