PTEC CyberPatriot

PTEC’s CyberPatriot teams have been competing strongly in the past two rounds: Round 2, which occurred on Saturday, November 5^th; and the State Round, which occurred on Saturday, December 10^th. 

After completing Round 2, competing teams were placed into one of three tiers: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Of our six CyberPatriot teams, five teams reached the Platinum tier meaning they were in the top 30% of teams and one of our teams, filled with mostly new competitors, just barely missed the Platinum tier, ending up in the Gold tier. 

In the State Round that happened recently, the competitors found some significant vulnerabilities in the operating systems and demonstrated their understanding of administering a Cisco network during the six-hour competition round. The teams did well and finished the round being ranked 6th, 20th, 21st, 26th, and 29th overall compared to other Canadian Platinum teams and 54th, 412th, 434th, 573rd, and 697th overall internationally against all other Platinum teams around the world. Our Gold team also did well and finished the round being ranked 4th overall compared to other Canadian Gold teams and 138th overall internationally against all other Gold teams around the world. We are excited to announce that two of our PTEC teams have proceeded to the Semifinal Round! Congratulations to all of our teams!

The competitors are hard at practice once more in preparation for the Semifinals of the CyberPatriot competition, which will happen on Saturday, January 21st!
