Dalhousie School to become Aniibiminan School for fall 2026
Dalhousie School will be renamed to Aniibiminan School in fall 2026 to ensure the school's name reflects the spirit of belonging, respect, and pride that the school and division strive to instill in every student.
Aniibiminan (uh-NEE-bih-mih-nahn) is the Anishinaabemowin word for summer berries. Aniibiminan (Pembina) represents living in good relationship with the land; where food, like the highbush cranberry, connects people to place community, and culture.

École Iskonakwa School to open in Prairie Pointe in fall 2027
École Iskonakwa School is currently under construction and set to welcome students from Prairie Pointe and surrounding Waverley West neighbourhoods in fall 2027. The new dual-track French and English K-8 school will be located at 175 Skyline Drive, with capacity for 800 students.
Iskonakwa (Is-ko-nah-kwah) is the Ininîmowin (Cree) word meaning “as far as the eye can see”. It is rooted in the teaching of the Seven Generations and reminds us to honour the past and the future, while representing living in good relationship with the land, where hope, possibility, and connection extend as far as the eye can see.
