Evi Klostermaier – Principal at Chancellor School, effective September 8, 2026
Evi currently serves as Vice Principal at Dalhousie School and brings to this role extensive experience as an Acting Principal and Vice Principal, and strong expertise in Resource and EAL programming.
Evi brings a deep commitment to inclusive, student‑centered education, grounded in equity, culturally responsive practice, and data‑informed decision making. Her work is guided by a strong belief in building school cultures rooted in trust, belonging, and continuous learning. Evi strongly believes that all students can learn and succeed. She shares:
“I believe collaboration and teamwork are fundamental in providing educators the skills in best practice so that all students can learn. It is my belief that a successful administration requires organization, communication and a keen ability to listen to all stake holders.”
Evi is working towards a Masters degree and holds a Bachelor of Education, and holds certifications for the Pembina Trails Leadership and Cognitive Coaching Programs.
Shawna Nagler – Principal at Arthur A. Leach School, effective September 8, 2026
Shawna currently serves as the Vice‑Principal of Arthur A. Leach School. She values high‑yield instructional design informed by meaningful assessment data and believes that strong school leadership can amplify teacher efficacy to create deep, engaging, and transformative learning experiences that foster curiosity, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
Shawna brings an extensive background in Indigenous perspectives and education, grounded in relationship‑building with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, and community members. She believes in shared leadership through collaboration, mentorship, and reflection, and is committed to inclusive, trauma‑informed practices that support mental health and well‑being while honouring student identity, belonging, and reconciliation. Shawna shares:
“I believe that each student arrives at our places of learning with rich cultural capital through their families and caregivers. Students carry this knowledge throughout school, with the goal that they will leave our K-12 system knowing who they are, and how they might contribute to their communities through their expression and enactment of the global competencies.”
Shawna holds a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Education, and a Postbaccalaureate Diploma in Inclusive Education.
Jane Rowland – Principal at Dalhousie School, effective September 8, 2026
Jane currently serves as the Principal of Pacific Junction School and is a strong instructional and operational leader who effectively serves diverse learners, families, and staff.
Jane’s vision is to nurture resilient, proud, engaged, and empowered learners within a caring and connected school community. She values flexibility in leadership, responding to change with clarity, purpose, and a calm, proactive mindset, while embracing diversity as a strength and prioritizing inclusion and community building. Jane believes deeply in empowerment, engagement, and collaboration to support student and staff success. She shared:
“Collaboration between colleagues is a powerful tool and a key belief, built on a foundation of relationship and trust. Collaborative leaders demonstrate that they have the strength to be humble. When we reach out to others to share our collective wisdoms, we engage in active problem-solving strategies, leading to student success and achievement.”
Jane holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a Postbaccalaureate Diploma of Education, Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology, and a Level 1 School Administrators Certificate.
Potoula Locken – Assistant Superintendent, Inclusive Support Services effective August 4, 2026
Potoula currently serves as the Director of Inclusion Support Services and Accessibility with St. James Assiniboia School Division, providing strategic leadership in inclusive education, accessibility, and multidisciplinary student support services. Her work is grounded in equity, ethical practice, and shared responsibility, ensuring that students and staff experience psychological, emotional, and physically safe learning environments. In addition to her divisional role, she is also an instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg, contributing to the preparation and development of future educators.
Potoula’s career includes significant system level leadership experience, having previously worked in Educational Support Services, served as a Coordinator of Student Services, and held the role of school administrator. Across these positions, she has led initiatives that strengthen inclusive frameworks, promote evidence informed interventions, and build the capacity of teachers and administrators. Her leadership aligns closely with Pembina Trails’ commitment to creating environments where every student is personally and intellectually engaged in their learning.
Potoula has collaborated extensively with school teams, families, and community partners to enhance wraparound supports and improve service delivery models. She is deeply committed to fostering belonging, dignity, and acceptance for all learners, an approach that mirrors Pembina Trails’ focus on wellbeing and inclusive school communities.

Jeff Morgan – Vice Principal at Pembina Trails Collegiate, effective September 8, 2026
Jeff currently serves as a Resource Teacher at Fort Richmond Collegiate and brings 20 years of experience in education to his new role. His background includes leadership roles in Student Services, Teacher-in-Charge responsibilities, and teacher mentorship, reflecting a thoughtful, systems-level approach to school improvement. Jeff is deeply committed to fostering trust, transparent communication, and shared leadership with staff, students, and families.
A strong proponent of student-centered learning, Jeff shares:
“I believe that students need a safe, welcoming environment that allows them to take chances with their learning. Differentiated instruction is important for an educator as it is the best way to meet students’ needs and encourage lifelong learning. My goal is for each student to develop their own toolbox with strategies that will help them find success in education while also preparing them to grow and change in society after graduation.”
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts, a Postbaccalaureate in Inclusive Education, is currently participating in the Pembina Trails Leadership Development Program and has completed the Cognitive Coaching Program.
Calvin Yong – Term Teaching Vice Principal at Shaftesbury High School, effective September 8, 2026
Calvin is currently a teacher at École Charleswood School, where he also served as Acting Vice-Principal. With over 25 years of experience in education, he is known for leading with integrity, empathy, and a strong commitment to student well-being and success.
Calvin is a values-driven, relational educator who believes deeply in the potential of every learner and is inclusive and strengths-focused, meeting individuals where they are while encouraging growth with confidence and empathy.
“I believe every learner brings unique strengths, curiosity, and the potential to thrive. My teaching philosophy is rooted in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic environment, one where students and staff feel encouraged to explore, take risks, and grow with confidence”.
Calvin holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science and has successfully completed the Pembina Trails Leadership Development and Cognitive Coaching programs. His professional excellence was formally recognized in 2023 with the Province of Manitoba Teaching Excellence Award.

Currently serving as a Student Support Teacher at Westdale School, Laurel is a student‑centered educational leader with extensive experience supporting school improvement through instructional leadership, inclusive programming, and collaborative team development.
Laurel brings demonstrated strength in building positive school culture through effective communication, use of educational technology, supervision of extracurricular programs, and shared responsibility for student achievement and well‑being.

Damon Klassen – Vice-Principal at École Van Walleghem School, effective September 8, 2026
Congratulations to Damon Klassen on his appointment to permanent Vice Principal at École Van Walleghem School effective September 8, 2026.
Damon is an experienced educator with a strong background in early and middle years teaching, multiage education, and resource support. Since beginning his term as Vice Principal on September 2, 2025, he has demonstrated effective leadership in student services, inclusive programming, collaborative problem solving, and schoolwide planning.
Throughout his tenure, he has supported student services and resource programming, coordinated student centered interventions, facilitated collaborative team processes, strengthened structures for inclusive education, and contributed to initiatives that foster belonging and student success.
Damon holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Education/Arts, a Level 1 Administrator/Principal Certificate, and certifications from the Pembina Trails Leadership Development and Cognitive Coaching programs.
