École Iskonakwa School information
École Iskonakwa School is a new school coming to the Prairie Pointe neighbourhood in southwest Winnipeg. The school will include classroom spaces, a gymnasium, a multipurpose room, specialized learning areas to support hands-on programming, and an attached daycare. It will also include resource, guidance and student support spaces, human ecology, life skills and a hygiene room, library learning commons, a kitchenette, applied technology spaces, and associated administrative, ancillary, and building support areas.
Iskonakwa (Is-ko-nah-kwah) is the Ininîmowin (Cree) word meaning “as far as the eye can see”. It is rooted in the teaching of the Seven Generations and reminds us to honour the past and the future, while representing living in good relationship with the land, where hope, possibility, and connection extend as far as the eye can see.

- Capacity: 104 preschool, 30 school age
- Ages: 12 weeks to 12 years old
- Registration: Pembina Trails School Division will own the childcare centre and secure a private operator. After an operator is selected, registration information will be available on the Manitoba Child Care Search webpage at childcaresearch.gov.mb.ca.
