Samantha Pope grew up in Ward 1 and attended Pacific Junction, Charleswood Junior High, and Shaftesbury High School. She is proud to now raise her own family in the same community with her husband. Samantha has two young children, one of which currently attends kindergarten in Ward 1.

Samantha has been a teacher for over 12 years and currently works as a high school guidance counsellor. She has a background in mathematics and holds a Master of Education in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning. Prior to her current role, she taught middle years and developed a strong understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of students at different stages.

An active member of the community, Samantha serves as the House League Convenor for the Charleswood Youth Soccer Association. She also manages her high school’s boys’ hockey team and enjoys supporting students both in school and through extracurricular activities.

As a trustee, Samantha is committed to supporting student well-being, empowering teachers, and ensuring all students have opportunities to reach their full potential in a safe and engaging learning environment. She looks forward to working collaboratively with families, staff, and community members to strengthen public education in Pembina Trails.
