Making the Move - October 2023 update

Making the Move will occur in two phases during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 school years. Pembina Trails is one of the fastest growing school divisions in the province and grade-level realignment of schools is required to accommodate this growth.  

Making the Move will include: 

2023/2024 - Opening of Pembina Trails Collegiate 

2024/2025 - Fort Richmond Collegiate and Institut collégial Vincent Massey Collegiate will add grade 9 English-track students to their schools in order to align with the senior years 9-12 credit system.   

Various K-8 schools in the south end of the school division will shift grade levels to help relieve student population pressure in many of our schools in this area. 

Schools will be hosting community engagement sessions before the December Winter Break, and families will be informed once these dates are finalized. Please get in touch with your child’s school for more information.
