At Linden Meadows School, we are proud of our diverse community of learners. We welcome our growing number of newcomer students as well as host international students from all over the world!

Newcomer Family Reception:

If your family has recently arrived in Canada (within the past six months), please follow these steps to register your child at school:

  • Contact the International Student Program office at: 204.488.1767 Ext. 1225
  • Book an appointment to confirm your address and immigration status
  • An EAL teacher will meet with you and your student and conduct an initial interview to ensure the best academic program

English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program:

At our school, EAL students experience a full English immersion model. They spend the majority of their day in the regular classroom, learning alongside their peers in a supportive environment. With appropriate accommodations, scaffolding, and targeted assistance, they are able to access the curriculum while building their English language skills. This approach allows students to strengthen both their academic learning and their everyday English through meaningful participation in classroom activities and school life.

Interpreters:

Interpreters are scheduled for families who require support at tri-conferences when student academic progress is shared. Our website also has a button to translate the content into many different languages.
