Winnipeg’s Sklyar Park, a grad from Shaftesbury High School in Pembina Trails, begins her quest for Olympic glory  August 8th at the Paris games.

Sklyar enters the taekwondo competition in Paris ranked third in the world in the 57 kg event and is a definite gold medal contender.

She is fresh off winning the gold medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan Am Games and winning her first ever Grand Prix gold medal last year, so she is brimming with confidence at the Paris Olympics.

To say Skylar has taekwondo in her blood is a massive understatement. Incredibly, between her father, grandfather, younger brothers, uncles and aunts, Skylar has 16 people in her extended family that are black belts in taekwondo.

Pembina Trails, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canada wish Skylar all the best in her journey for an Olympic medal.
