Bus safety reminder

School is just around the corner. As we fall back into routine, it is important to take a minute to think about bus safety. We all need to do our part to keep kids safe. This includes knowing the most dangerous areas around a bus.

Here are four tips for bus riders:

• Never cross behind the bus.

• Take five big steps away from the bus before walking along the safe zone.

• Always wait for the bus driver’s signal before walking in front of the crossing arm. Look left and right as you cross the road. At an intersection, look in all directions.

• Always cross the road at right angles; do not cut across on an angle.
