CTV Your Morning Winnipeg at Linden Meadows School for 'I Love to Read' Month
Linden Meadows School had an early morning ⛅️ visitor from CTV Your Morning Winnipeg - Ainsley McPhail, Monday, February 23. The staff and students got to share their exciting ‘I Love to Read’ activities and programs happening throughout the month of February. 🎤📚
Michelle Barclay, Linden Meadows VP talked about MYRCA (Manitoba Young Readers’ Choice Awards) and how students get the chance to vote for their best-loved book in the MYRCA Olympic Games. Colleen Nelson, Linden Meadows classroom teacher, shared her classroom reading themes and the importance of building a community of readers. Kim Bryson, Linden Meadows Teacher Librarian spoke on their ‘Over the Moon” theme this year with books and activities centered around space. Michelle Carlos, Library Learning Commons Consultant in Pembina Trails, shared a display of graphic novels that help students read while learning new facts in an infographic format.
Linden Meadows students, Hailey – Grade 6, Daisy – Grade 7, and Michael – Grade 5, expressed what they love most about ‘I Love to Read’ month activities and clubs. 😀📖
