Physical Education

The Chancellor School Physical Education program follows the provincial Physical Education/Health Education curriculum. There are five general learning outcomes with specific targets at each grade that are knowledge and skill-based. For physical education classes, the focus is on movement, healthy lifestyle practices, fitness management, personal and social management and safety.

Our program at Chancellor School is based on the belief that students should be actively engaged in all class activities. Citizenship skills such as fair play, cooperation, compromise, respect for others and property are taught, modeled and expected of all our students.

Physical education is an active class. It is important for students to be physically engaged in activity as much as possible during class time. Students are expected to come to the gym with a positive attitude, dressed to be active and a willingness to participate.

All students should have indoor running shoes with non-marking soles.

Along with regularly scheduled classes, students will have opportunity to participate in intramurals and co-curricular activities. In grades 4-6, students have the opportunity to participate in divisional events such as cross country, track and field and grade 6 volleyball and basketball.
