An evening of student film and photography

Parents, friends and community recently spent an evening walking the halls of Fort Richmond Collegiate and enjoying art produced by a group of talented high school students.
Semester One Film and Photography’s annual public showcase was held on Thursday, January 18, 2018. The event involved a walk-through gallery displaying more than 120 student's photographs, followed by an hour long showcase of student films.
"Personally as a video production student, it means a lot to me to be able to show off the work that I am proud of and share with other students, " shared grade 11 student Abby Swanton.
"You learn more about what it takes to create a product that the audience will appreciate and be amused by, and it helps increase the quality of my future projects. Hearing feedback from my parents really made me feel like they are interested in seeing more of my creative works, and they even asked for me to bring home the projects that weren’t shown. Seeing the progression of editing skills in both photography and filming throughout the grades encourages younger students to expand their ideas and creativity, and made me want to join digital photography next year. The film and photography night is a night I always look forward to, and I am excited to attend next semester."
