The cornerstone school officially closed in June 2016, after 102 years serving our community. Chapman students were welcomed at Royal School in September 2016 and the Chapman Daycare is set to open up its new location inside Royal School by 2017.
Pembina Trails School Division owns the building and greenspace. This map shows the property boundaries in yellow. It is important to note, that the sale process is guided by steps set out by the Province of Manitoba.
The process included canvassing other government departments to see if there is a use for the site. The province has just recently advised Pembina Trails that the division may place the school and grounds on the market. The advertising period must be for 90 days.
Once proposals come in, reasonable consideration will be given to groups that propose educational, recreational or cultural needs in the community.
Our board aims to keep this process as transparent as possible. Pembina Trails is committed to following steps which are used by other school divisions in similar positions across Manitoba.Submissions must be addressed to the following and must be received by the Division no later than 4 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2018.
