Board votes to sell the former Chapman School and property to community church group
After months of careful consideration and deliberations, our Board of Trustees has voted to sell the property at 3707 Roblin Boulevard to Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). The cornerstone school officially closed in June 2016, after 102 years serving our community. This past fall, the province gave official confirmation that Pembina Trails School Division could place the building and grounds of Chapman School up for sale. During the last 12 months, community members have taken the time to attend numerous meetings and have shared their thoughts on the future of the former Chapman School. "We want to thank the public for their patience and respectful approach to this process," said Chair Julie Fisher. "Our board truly listened and heard loud and clear what was important to people living in the area." The Iglesia Ni Cristo Church's plan is to keep the current green-space and use the building as a community centre, school and church.
Pembina Trails aims to follow the sale process that is guided by steps set out by the Province of Manitoba. Learn more about these mandated steps
