Movember: Raising Awareness One Mustache at a Time
When you enter the halls of Oak Park this month you are likely to notice a confident young leader with a carefully crafted moustache promoting awareness of prostate and pancreatic cancer. Paige Andrusko, a grade 9 student, with an enormous capacity to support something much bigger than herself has raised almost $12,000 for prostate cancer since she began her Movember campaigns in 2011. And this year, is no different.
Oak Park is helping Paige raise money throughout the month and you can help too. Our hope is to show our support for Paige and help her reach her goal of raising $3000 this year. As Paige states on her donation page "If I can walk around in the hallways in the presence of seniors and people giving me even more odd looks, you can support me by donating, or wearing/growing a mustache with me!"
So, we are challenging all Raiders to drop money off in the main office, or donate at Paige's donation page at https://mosista.co/paigea Let's show our young leader that our Oak Park family is behind her in her efforts. In addition to raising money, some of our staff members, Mr. Alexander, Mr. MacDonald, Mr. Fowler and M Comeau, are also showing their support by growing our their own moustaches. As their moustaches grow, we hope the amount raised grows as well.
