Track

Track - Indoor

The indoor track and field team is open to any student and does not hold tryouts. Practices begin mid-November and run until the end of March. Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 a.m. There are four competitions from January to March during the school day which determine the top 12 athletes in each event in order to compete at the Championship Meet. Athletes compete in their age groups of Junior boys and Junior girls (grades 9 and 10) and Varsity boys and Varsity girls (grades 11 and 12) and a banner is awarded to the top school in each category.  Coaches are: Mr. MacLean, Ms. Peters, Alanna Boudreau, and Courtney Friesen..

  • 60m
  • 60m hurdles
  • 200m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • 1500m
  • Long jump
  • Triple jump
  • High jump
  • Shot put
  • 4 x 200m relay
  • Medley relay (800/200/200/400)

Track - Outdoor


The outdoor track and field team is open to any student and does not hold tryouts. Practices run from mid-April until early June. They are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 a.m. There may be one to two practice meets during the school day before the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference (WWAC) Championship Meet held over two school days in May. The top three athletes in each event will be given the opportunity to compete at the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) Provincial Championships in June. Athletes compete in their age groups of Junior boys and Junior girls (grades 9 and 10) and Varsity boys and Varsity girls (grades 11 and 12) and a banner is awarded to the top school in each category at both championship meets. Coaches are: Ms. Peters and Alanna Boudreau. Events offered are:

  • 80m girls/100m boys hurdles
  • 200m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • 1500m
  • 3000m
  • Long jump
  • Triple jump
  • High jump
  • Shot put
  • Discus
  • Javelin
  • 4 x 100m relay
  • 4 x 400m relay
  • Medley relay (800/200/200/400)
