Art, Band and IA

Art: Grade seven students will gain a basic understanding of the elements and principles of design. Students will learn about line, texture, colour, space and shape and how to incorporate these elements in different projects throughout the year through a studio-based program.

Band: Grade seven concert band is General Byng's introduction to instrumental music. Students select a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument and learn the fundamental skills for performance on that instrument in a band setting. Prior musical experience is not required for the band program. Everyone is welcome.

IA: 5 weeks of exposure to courses such as Electronics, Home Economics: Foods and Nutrition, Home Economics: Clothing and Textiles, Graphic Arts, and Graphic Communications.
