Physical Education at École St. Avila reinforces fair play, respect, skill development, physical activity through participation in developmentally appropriate activities. We encourage our students to be physically active and to have a healthy lifestyle. We believe that active kids have healthy futures.

Through planned and balanced programming, all students from kindergarten - grade six participate in activities to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to develop active and healthy lifestyle habits.

In 2017-18 our school received the Quality (Daily) Physical Education Award that celebrates our school's commitment to offering exceptional physical education programming. Our participation in the QDPE Award program illustrates our commitment to reflective practice by our ongoing assessment of our Physical Education programming and continued exploration of opportunities for improvement.

We are proud that Physical Health Education Canada has recognized that our school seeks to ensure excellence in our physical education program. We strive to support students in developing the competence, confidence, and motivation to live healthy, physically active lives.

In recognition of our efforts, École St. Avila was recognized in the Fall edition of PHE Canada's nationally publicized Physical and Health Education Journal and listed on the PHE Canada website (www.phecanada.ca). Additionally, PHE Canada has given our school an award certificate, award banner, and a congratulatory letter from the Prime Minister of Canada.

We are proud that PHE Canada has recognized that our school seeks to ensure excellence in our physical education program. We strive to support students in developing the competence, confidence, and motivation to live healthy, physically active lives.
