P.A.T.H.S. - Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies

At Beaumont School we are pleased to offer a specific, research-based curriculum, P.A.T.H.S., which is used at each grade level to promote social and emotional competencies such as: self-control, social competence, positive peer relations and interpersonal problem-solving skills.

Through bi-weekly lessons students are taught specific skills which support:

  • resolving conflicts peacefully
  • handling emotions positively
  • building positive self-esteem
  • empathizing
  • making responsible decisions

Cross-Grade Groupings:

At Beaumont School students from kindergarten to grade 6 participate in monthly family group activities providing our students opportunities to foster cross-grade relationships. Teachers facilitate this activity by welcoming student groups and by providing support to our older students as they develop their leadership skills. Student leaders lead and model engaging activities and games that are linked to an annual theme and/or goal. Family Groups are a dynamic, fun and engaging activity that builds our strong school community.
