Pembina Trails facilities and maintenance staff have busy summer
Schools are closed for learning during the summer, but that doesn’t mean the work stops. A big thank you to members of the Pembina Trails Facilities and Maintenance Department who completed numerous renovation and maintenance projects over the past two months. Schools are also cleaned top to bottom in preparation for the return of our students on September 3.
Some examples of the work done in schools this year include:
- Extensive flooring replacements at École secondaire Oak Park High School.
- Renovation of Acadia School’s old science lab to make way for an art room and two classroom conversions.
- Fort Richmond Collegiate saw an additional office for its third Vice Principal, a grooming roof addition and the calming space was moved.
- Gym floors were sanded, recoated and painted at Pembina Trails Collegiate, Beaumont School and Henry G. Izatt Middle School.
- Institut collégial Vincent Massey Collegiate got a graphic lab renewal and courtyard landscaping.
- General Byng, Ralph Maybank and Crane Schools both saw classroom conversions, while Viscount School had its daycare moved.
- École R.H.G. Bonnycastle and Westgrove Schools have new parking lot overlays.
- École Van Walleghem School’s play structure is complete.
- A large accessible entrance was added at Ralph Maybank School.
- A bike cage was added at Linden Meadows School.
- The final stage of the Institut collégial Vincent Massey Collegiate courtyard landscape was completed.
- Other work throughout the division includes entrance flooring, painting, locker projects and seasonal grass and landscape maintenance.
