Improv Class...It's "No Joke"!

And Scene!

To wrap up this year’s Grade 9 Improv course, students from Vincent Massey Collegiate’s Improv Team “No Joke” stopped by for a workshop. The VMC improv team won silver at the National Canadian Improv Games in Ottawa this spring and spoke to AAL students about the experience.

Olivia, Athena, Melody and Hayden, all grade 12 students from VMC, taught the class brand new warm up and performance games, before the full group tried their hand at the CIG “Theme Event” from competitive improv.

“I truly believe that improv is one of the most valuable life skills one can learn. It’s not just about being silly and having fun- which is important in life, but it’s about actively listening to others, collaborating creatively and employing effective communication tools in any setting,” says Ms. Perlov.
