Lancers Love to Read!
February is I Love to Read Month! This year's theme designated by the Manitoba Reading Association is:
Stories Connect Us: We are More Alike than Different!
On top of visiting the AAL Library Learning Commons' "Starbooks Cafe" to spend time cozying up with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate, students have also been visited by guests who read their favourite books and humbled us with their own inspirational stories. Everyone has a life story that we continue to be the authors of.
Special thank you to all of our incredible guest readers who came to AAL this month! (Winnipeg Blue Bomber Adam Bighill; SRO Constable Swanson; Author Abby Dupuis; FRC Varsity Basketball Players; Pembina Trail Library; Nadia from Black History Manitoba; Daniel from United Way and Peaceful Village; Pembina Trails School Division Superintendent Lisa Boles)
As I Love to Read Month continues, students also have various ways to win prizes at the end of the month through writing Book Reviews and/or completing daily reading challenges (calendar is posted on Edsby under the @aallibrary group).
