Provincial AAAA boys’ basketball championships was an all-Pembina Trails affair between Vincent Massey and Oak Park

The Manitoba High School Athletic Association AAAA provincial boys’ basketball finals was a tribute to the calibre of basketball being played and coached in Pembina Trails.

There are a lot of quality high school basketball programs in the province but in the end, the very best two were both from Pembina Trails.

Vincent Massey Trojans were simply too much to handle for the Oak Park Raiders, with Massey ultimately prevailing 101-82.

The depth of the Trojans roster was a key factor in their championship run. You know a team is stacked when it has the best high school volleyball player in the province – 6’7” Owen Weekes – on the bench.

The Raiders gave a gallant effort but between one of their best players fouling out and another turning his ankle in the fourth quarter, the Trojans’ relentless offence carried the day as they won by 101- 82.

Congratulations to both teams and their coaches.
