Graphic Arts

Students are given an introduction to basic and complex processes found in the Technology and Graphic Arts industry.

Each student entering Graphic Arts will be given a well-founded "Technology Education" which will immerse the student into current technological processes found in the Technology and Graphic Arts Industry. The courses look at traditional Graphic Arts processes such as drafting, screen printing and photography but focus more on current high-tech hardware and processes such as computers, digital photography, web page design and internet.

ÉCS boasts one of the most comprehensive facilities in the province as the courses are taught in two separate classrooms in the school. The Graphic Arts Room (510) is equipped to teach traditional Graphic Arts processes, while the Technology Lab (509) is equipped with the latest computers (both PC and Mac) and the latest graphics software. The technology lab is equipped with high speed cable modem lines and separate phone lines to allow students access to the Internet where students can research or conduct "real time" video chats with other students around the world. This room is well equipped with video editing work stations where students work on creating, editing and producing videos.
