ÉCS Cancer Care Fundraiser

This year will mark École Charleswood School’s 8th annual Cancer Care Campaign. This event was initiated after a staff diagnosis in 2017 and has become an annual tradition at our school. With so many families affected by cancer, including those in our own community, we made a pledge to support our Charleswood families and the entire city of Winnipeg fight this terrible disease.

There will be a staff vs. student dodgeball tournament that will occur on the last day of each week in March. Students are encouraged to play or watch on their grade specific day. The cost to play will be $1 collected on the day of the event. The final event is “Pie a Teacher/Teacher Auction” that will happen at our culminating assembly on the last afternoon before Spring Break. Students will be able to purchase tickets for the opportunity to pie a teacher in the face or win a teacher auction and names will be drawn live during the assembly. Lastly, throughout the month we will also be accepting donations through a secure Cancer Care MB link. Donations received through the link are eligible for a tax receipt if the value is over $15. More details about these events and the secure donation link will be shared prior to March 1.

All proceeds from these events will be donated to the Cancer Care Foundation of Manitoba. We have successful raised approximately $10,000 in the last 7 years and we know our community will help us continue to support this worthy cause.

If you have any questions, please contact Jill Connell or Hilary Fergusson for any additional information.

Thank you for your continued support,
