Microwaves are Back!

ÉCS is pleased to announce that microwaves are back! Starting May 1, microwaves will be available over the lunch hour for student use. One microwave will be available in the small cafeteria for grade 7 and 8 student use and three microwaves will be located in the large cafeteria for use by grade 5 and 6 students. 

Microwaves will be monitored by lunch supervisors. 

We are asking parents and guardians to review proper microwave use with their child, especially as it relates to a busy cafeteria setting.

The following guidelines are to be followed.

Microwave Do's

place food on a paper towel
loosen lids before heating
clean messes and spills promptly
limit cook time (max. 4 minutes)

Microwave Don'ts

do not microwave tin foil, metal or non-microwavable items. Microwaves are only to be used to heat food items.

do not use microwaves during classes, breaks or Go Time.
