Festival du Voyageur week

It’s Festival du Voyageur week from February 21-24 at Chancellor School! 

For our annual Festival du Voyageur activities, students K-6 dressed up in their chemises rouge à carreaux, ceinture fléchées, and tuques rouges. Three winners were chosen for the best voyageur costume! 

All students grades 4-6 enjoyed classes where they learned to play the spoons – a traditional voyageur past-time! We also had a guest reader and made mini ceinture fléchées. 

Grade 5s participated in a ‘Concours du Barbu’ or beard contest. The beard contest is one of the attractions held each year at the festival. Each student brought in their own supplies to make a beard in just 20 minutes.
