Exploring our Emotions with Ms Wischnewski's Kindergarten Class

This month in Mrs. Wischnewski’s Kindergarten classroom, students are exploring emotions through the story The Color Monster by Anna Llenas. We are learning to recognize and name our feelings—such as happiness, sadness, anger, fear, and peacefulness—and talk about the behaviours that go along with each one. Through group discussions and play-based activities, students are beginning to understand how to express their emotions in healthy ways and support one another as friends.

After reading books about colors and noticing them in our classroom and environment, students are beginning to experiment with paints to see what happens when colors are combined. This hands-on discovery is helping us build vocabulary, creativity, and curiosity as we mix and observe new colors together.

It’s been a colorful and expressive start to the month!
