FRC Students and Classes Collaborate on Family Storytime Event

On Monday, Feb 23, FRC’s Library hosted a Family Storytime event as part of “I Love to Read” Month. Approximately 75 people representing families from various elementary schools in the community participated.

Families were able to enjoy a snack and participate in activities of choice including a scavenger hunt, puppets, bookmark making, puzzles, independent reading, bowling, colouring, and playtime.

Next, families thoroughly enjoyed a read aloud of “The Monster At the End of this Book” by Jon Stone which included puppet monsters and audience participation. More audience participation was required during the reading of the non-fiction book “Butt or Face” by Kari Lavelle. Door prize books were also handed out.

Thank you to the Family Studies students in Ms. Wolfe and Ms. Camaclang’s classes, and the Drama/Improv students in Ms. Perlov’s classes who volunteered to ensure the evening was a success. We look forward to another Family Storytime event in the spring!
