Our mission is to enrich the lives of students with engaging literature and ensure that students are competent and ethical users of information in a variety of formats to prepare them as life-long learners. The teacher-librarian works with students to analyze learning and information needs and to locate and use resources in all formats that will meet those needs. Students will learn to access, evaluate and use information from multiple sources in order to learn, think, create and apply knowledge. With respect to electronic resources, the Library Learning Commons strives to maintain a constant focus on the nature, quality and ethical uses of information available in these and in more traditional tools.

The library staff is committed to ensuring that all students have access to quality and engaging reading materials for pleasure reading. Inviting authors to Acadia and hosting a Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Awards (MYRCA) club for students are just a few examples of the many activities the teacher-librarian organizes to promote young adult literacy at Acadia. Suggestions for materials whether non-fiction, fiction or professional in nature are encouraged.

The library is open from 8:10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day for students and staff to find books, complete homework, use the computers or just visit. Everyone is welcome at any time.
