Our New Principal, Mr. Weekes

We got the opportunity to interview our new principal Mr. Weekes. He is so nice! First, we were wondering if he likes being a principal at our school. He told us that he likes it very much. Next, we asked him what he likes most about being a principal. He had a lot of reasons. He said he loves to see children smiling. He also loves when he passes by the different classrooms and sees children having fun and participating. He also likes to see teachers in action while they work. Our third question was what he does as a principal. He explained to us that he talks a lot to people about their concerns and issues.   He also makes sure we are taken good care of.  In fact, he also goes outside at the start and at the end of the school day to make sure everyone is safe. He also helps people with their jobs. For example, if the custodian is away, Mr. Weekes will step in to help. He also helps the teachers to prepare for their teaching. We were curious about why he wanted to be a principal. He explained he used to be a Gym teacher and wanted to help even more people. So, he decided to become a vice principal. Now, he is the principal of Whyte Ridge Early Years School! Finally, we were wondering if we could ask him how tall he is. He told us that he is 6 foot 6 inches tall!
