Pembina Trails welcomes Potoula Locken as Assistant Superintendent, Inclusive Support Services

Pembina Trails' Senior Administration Team is pleased to announce the appointment of Potoula Locken as Assistant Superintendent, Inclusive Support Services effective August 4, 2026. 

Potoula currently serves as the Director of Inclusion Support Services and Accessibility with St. James Assiniboia School Division, providing strategic leadership in inclusive education, accessibility, and multidisciplinary student support services. Her work is grounded in equity, ethical practice, and shared responsibility, ensuring that students and staff experience psychological, emotional, and physically safe learning environments. In addition to her divisional role, she is also an instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg, contributing to the preparation and development of future educators.

Potoula’s career includes significant system level leadership experience, having previously worked in Educational Support Services, served as a Coordinator of Student Services, and held the role of school administrator. Across these positions, she has led initiatives that strengthen inclusive frameworks, promote evidence informed interventions, and build the capacity of teachers and administrators. Her leadership aligns closely with Pembina Trails’ commitment to creating environments where every student is personally and intellectually engaged in their learning.

Potoula has collaborated extensively with school teams, families, and community partners to enhance wraparound supports and improve service delivery models. She is deeply committed to fostering belonging, dignity, and acceptance for all learners, an approach that mirrors Pembina Trails’ focus on wellbeing and inclusive school communities.

Potoula holds a Master of Education, a Postbaccalaureate Diploma, a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Human Ecology, a Special Education Certificate, a Special Education Coordinator Certificate, a Guidance Counsellor Certificate, and a School Administrator’s Certificate.
