Pembina Trails to conduct anonymous survey on health and well-being

We hear a lot about mental health these days. Because it’s such an important topic and one that touches so many students and their families, Pembina Trails will be conducting an anonymous survey on health and well-being in early March.

“The survey will provide a window into our student’s perceptions of their well-being. Student voice is essential if we’re trying to identify strengths and gaps in our school’s approach to mental health,” says Brent Tapley, divisional psychologist.

“The survey is an opportunity for students to tell us what they need, and then the school has an opportunity to recognize and respond to those needs,” says Karen Fast, divisional social worker.

The results will be shared with school and divisional staff as well as with students. The results obtained from students will help schools identify specific student needs and implement appropriate resources and programming.

Students who participate in the survey can feel completely comfortable that their identity is never known.

“This survey is completely anonymous to allow students to safely share their personal voice,” says Lise Denis, Mental Health Programming Facilitator for Pembina Trails. “The survey does not ask for names, or student ID numbers. Answers for the entire grade or school are always combined and displayed together, making it impossible to see individual answers.”
