Yes I Can Awards

The evening of Thursday February 23rd was the 2017 'Yes I Can! Awards' presented by the Manitoba Council for Exceptional Children. The 'Yes I Can! Awards' were established to acknowledge the achievements of children and youth with exceptionalities. The awards focus on the ability to overcome barriers or public misconceptions, to encourage children and youth with exceptionalities to seek their highest potential, and to increase awareness of the abilities, aspirations, and personal qualities of these students. Oak Park students, Nathanael and Andy were awarded a Certificate of Recognition in the category of Transition, and Transition Scholarship respectively. Transition awards are meant to acknowledge student achievement in mastering activities that lead to successful experiences in the areas of work, vocational training, or independent living. Both Andy and Nathanael are both currently participating in work experiences to build their skills and experiences. Oak Park is excited to congratulate Andy Wong and Nathanael Cheater on their awards.
