Oak Park Student Named to CBC Manitoba's Future 40
We always knew grade 12 student Skylar Ferguson was headed for greatness, but her recent title as one of CBC Manitoba's Future 40 reinforces it. CBC Manitoba's Future 40 showcases some of the brightest young minds and influential change-makers under 40 who are working to make this province better for future generations.
Skylar's passion to help support the Churchill community started when she heard the rail line to Churchill had been washed out. Since then, Skylar has put her leadership and influence to work collecting 4,250 pounds of non-perishable food items, and sending 900 Valentine's Day cards to Churchill. Skylar's most recent venture of collecting gently used sports equipment to outfit youth in the Churchill and Kivalliq communities is only one more way Skylar is making a difference in our province.
