National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and Pembina Trails School Division joins people across Canada in honouring the children who never returned home from residential schools, the survivors, and their families and communities.
There are no classes on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation provides an important opportunity to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools and to reflect on our shared responsibility in advancing reconciliation. Leading up to this day, schools have been recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Week through age-appropriate learning where both students and staff are able to deepen their understanding of the truth and consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.
