École Dieppe Teachers visit Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre

As part of the commitment to further our understanding of Indigenous ways of being and doing, teachers met at the Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre just outside Beauséjour.  We embarked on a journey and met with the Keeper of the Circle, Adrian Jacobs.  He shared some traditional Indigenous, wisdom-based perspectives, which included land-based learning, smudging, Hiawatha and the Peacemaker story and sharing circle.  The centre provided a lunch of soup, bannock and salad.  It is a peaceful centre surrounded by the Brokenhead River.  Our teachers were appreciative of spending time together and learning from Adrian Jacobs.
