Patrols

Our patrol program:

Mrs. Kozak and Mr. Ozirney, the patrol supervisors, would like to thank all of our grade 5 and 6 students that volunteer to patrol at Dalhousie School.  They are a punctual and responsible team!

You can help us by reminding your children about safety procedures!

  • Always look both ways before crossing the street
  • Always cross at corners, or at marked crosswalks
  • Never run across the street
  • Never run into the street between parked cars
  • Obey all signs and signals
  • List to and obey the school safety patrols
  • Do not go with or take anything from strangers
  • Do not walk on snow hills beside the street in the winter
  • Do not throw snow.

Motorists are also reminded to be considerate to young children and drive carefully.  Also remember that passing a school bus (when lights are flashing) at any time from any direction is against the law and can result in a large traffic fine.  Do not park close to patrol crossings as it blocks sight lines.  The school parking lot is very crowded and dangerous when used by parents.  Please arrange alternate drop-off and pick up spots.

Please remind your children to cross where patrols are stationed and encourage them to come to school only when patrols are on duty.
