Welcome back to school message from Superintendent Amos
Welcome to a new school year!
Whether you're returning to one of our schools or joining the Pembina Trails community for the very first time, we're delighted to have you with us. I hope your summer brought opportunities to rest, recharge, and make lasting memories. As September begins, our schools are ready to welcome students back with excitement, optimism, and a shared sense of purpose.
There is something special about the start of a school year. Classrooms come alive with curiosity. Hallways fill with energy, laughter, and possibility. New friendships are formed, new skills are developed, and new opportunities emerge each day.
Public education plays an essential role in making those opportunities possible. Our schools bring together students from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, creating communities where every child can learn, grow, and discover their strengths. Public education opens doors, removes barriers, and helps ensure every student has access to high-quality, inclusive learning and the support they need to succeed. It is one of the most important investments we make in the future of our children, our communities, and our society.
At Pembina Trails, we take our responsibility seriously.
We remain committed to our mission of providing educational excellence through challenging and enriching experiences for all students in safe, inclusive, and caring communities. Put simply, we are focused on helping every learner thrive. The success and well-being of our students guide every decision we make, while our values of respect, ethics, growth, well-being, and stewardship shape how we learn, lead, and care for one another.
Of course, student success is a shared responsibility. Our teachers and support staff work tirelessly to inspire learning, nurture belonging, and help students reach their full potential. Students, I encourage you to embrace new opportunities, explore your interests, challenge yourselves, and make the most of every learning experience. Families and caregivers, thank you for the encouragement, guidance, and support you provide each day. The partnership between home and school is one of the strongest contributors to student success, and we look forward to working alongside you throughout the year.
The year ahead will bring opportunities, challenges, achievements, and growth. Most importantly, it will bring thousands of students through our doors each day, and we are ready and privileged to meet and greet them and help them to shape their future.
Thank you for being part of the Pembina Trails community. I wish all students, staff, and families a rewarding and successful school year, and I look forward to celebrating all that we will accomplish together.
Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, M.Ed (she/her/hers)
