Phys Ed Update for March!

This past month in Physical Education has been full of energy, skill development, and fun across all grade levels. Students recently wrapped up our basketball unit, where they focused on developing fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. Through small-sided games, partner challenges, and cooperative activities, students worked on controlling the ball, moving safely in shared spaces, and supporting their teammates. It was great to see students building confidence while learning the importance of communication and sportsmanship.

Following basketball, students transitioned into our striking unit. This unit gave students the opportunity to explore striking skills using a variety of different pieces of equipment. Classes used balloons, foam balls, paddles, short-handled rackets, pool noodles, and even frisbees to practice striking objects with control and accuracy. By using different equipment, students learned how to adjust their force, timing, and coordination depending on the task. These activities also helped develop hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness in a fun and engaging way.

Students showed excellent effort as they practiced new skills and challenged themselves to improve. It has been wonderful to see students encouraging one another and celebrating success along the way. We look forward to continuing to build movement skills and keeping students active, confident, and motivated in the weeks ahead.
