Fun in Phys Ed - November Activites Update

We’ve had an exciting and active month in Physical Education as students wrapped up our gymnastics unit and began exploring new skills in basketball. During gymnastics, students focused on balance, strength, coordination, and body control through stations such as rolling, jumping, travelling, and basic weight-bearing positions. It was wonderful to see students challenge themselves, try new movements, and support one another as they built confidence and practiced safe landings and takeoffs.

Our basketball unit is now underway, and students are learning foundational skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. We are emphasizing proper technique, spatial awareness, and communication while also incorporating fun drills and small-sided games. All students are encouraged to participate with a positive attitude, show good sportsmanship, and celebrate effort and improvement.

As we move deeper into the fall and temperatures continue to drop, we will still be going outside periodically for fitness activities, and outdoor games. Please ensure your child arrives with appropriate clothing for colder weather. Layered clothing, warm jackets, gloves, and hats help students stay comfortable and safe while being active outdoors. Proper footwear is also important for both indoor and outdoor activities.

Thank you for your continued support in helping students stay active and prepared for all parts of our program. We look forward to another great month of movement, skill-building, and fun! If you have any questions about our units or expectations, please feel free to reach out.
