Bonnycastle Phys Ed January Update

Happy New Year, families!

We are excited to be starting 2026 strong in Physical Education, with students returning full of energy and enthusiasm for movement. The new year is a great opportunity to build healthy habits, develop skills, and set personal goals, and our classes have jumped right back into learning with positive attitudes.

In the gym, students across grades have been participating in a variety of gymnastics activities. These lessons focus on balance, body control, strength, and safe movement. Students are practicing rolls, balances, jumps, and creative movement sequences while learning how to work safely with equipment and support one another. Gymnastics is a wonderful way for students to improve confidence and coordination, and it has been great to see their progress.

We have also begun basketball activities, where students are developing fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. Lessons emphasize cooperation, fair play, and applying skills in small-sided games so all students can be successful and engaged.

Grade 4 students are beginning to prepare for their upcoming track meet in February. During classes, they are learning proper techniques for running, jumping, and throwing, as well as the importance of teamwork, effort, and encouragement. These students are working hard and showing great commitment as they prepare to represent our school.

Thank you for your continued support of physical education. We look forward to an active and healthy 2026!
