How to Stay Healthy and Clean and How We are Spending the Last Week at School
by Peyton and LeeAnn
With the outbreak of Covid-19, it is very important to stay healthy by staying clean. Social distancing helps as well in keeping you healthy. Then you have less of a chance to get sick. It also helps to stop the spread.
Our first piece of advice is to wash your hands. Wash them for at least 30 seconds or as long as it takes to sing the alphabet. Remember soap is important! After, when you open the door, use a paper towel. That way if someone carelessly did not use soap or sneezed on the doorknob, you would be safe.
Our next advice, is to stay home if you feel sick. Do not go to the store or school because you may spread sickness to other people.
Our final reminder is that social distancing helps stop the spread of sickness. Remember to stay a metre or two away from others.
Covid-19 has led to a pretty hectic past few weeks. There has been a lot on the news. Some kids were not focusing because they were a bit worried about it. This week, the numbers in our classes were decreasing each day. Parents started to keep their children at home. However, we feel safe at school. We are constantly washing our hands. Because there are a lot less people, it is better for social distancing.
During this week, we have been able to do open ended-activities and creative projects. We played games, had large movement activities and listened to music we like. We made bunnies in the library; each one was different and unique. Peyton made three and LeeAnn created a 3-D cat instead.
"In a way, this week is fun but also sort of sad, because all of your friends are not here," said LeeAnn. "At least we got to be super creative," Peyton added.
Both of us agree that the next weeks will at least be more relaxing to be at home even though we will be doing the homework we get sent from our teachers.
