Arbor Day Assembly with City of Winnipeg

Royal School was chosen by the City of Winnipeg to receive the gift of a Larch tree, as part of the City of Winnipeg's Arbor Day celebrations. Special guests included Trustee Linda Karn, City of Winnipeg Forester Martha Barwinsky, City of Winnipeg Forestry Technician Karen Asmundsen, and our grade 5 students who will be the caretakers of the tree. Our school choir, led by Ms. Bowers, sang "Rhythm of the Rain", and other grade 5 students shared a nature-themed haiku.

Thank you to the City of Winnipeg for choosing Royal School to receive a tree! We are fascinated by it being a conifer that will turn yellow and lose its needles for the winter months. Our grade 5 students will be sure to take care of it for years to come.
