Birch Bark Biting - Teachings with Pat Bruderer

We were lucky to host Pat Bruderer (Cree name Half Moon), for three full days. She spent one hour with each homeroom class, sharing her stories of her family's experiences and how she taught herself the art of birch bark biting.

Everyone had the opportunity to try birch bark biting for themselves. Elder Pat gifted our school with a laser cutting of one of her birch bark bitings - it has bees and flowers on it. She also gifted us with a photo of another birch bark biting that shows dragonflies and flowers. She shared that without bees and water, we would not be able to live on Mother Earth.
